60 years in West Virginia. A man of faith, action, and unwavering conviction.

David Purkey
Republican • U.S. Senate
Fairmont, WV 26555
Pro-God, Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Family, Pro-USA and Pro-West Virginia. David Purkey has resided in West Virginia for 60 years and his ancestors for many more. He loves his state and his country and is deeply thankful for those who have fought or been willing to fight to preserve our freedoms.
David currently works as a project manager on Abandoned Mine Land Projects, making WV lands that were bad into something good again. He is one of the few who can truly say, "I love my job."
There are several reasons David chose to run for office, and two of the biggest are the corruption that has crippled so much of our country and his desire to do something good for his country. He does not need a job or another source of income, but he longs to see things change for the better.
In December 2025, David traveled to Kenya, Africa, installing and repairing a water system that provides potable water to over 4,000 people near a village called Kager. He didn't have to do any of it — and some of it was hard work in a very hot climate — but he does these things because he wants to help people.
David has been a volunteer in West Virginia prisons for over 35 years. He is a graduate of Fairmont State University as well as West Virginia University. His late brother and his nephew inspired him in the political arena.
"I want to see Godly people in office and not ones that hate America. I have been to many parts of WV and I have to say that there are some of the best people in WV as there are anywhere in the world. People who will help you when you need it and people who actually care about the USA and their state."
"I pressed through to complete my education, for which it changed my life and I am forever thankful. It is this same passion that I have that will cause me to work for the people of WV. I will press the issues that are important to the wellbeing of our people. Thank you."
